Katie and Josiah

Is there anything better than a cheery, golden summer wedding in the chill days of while we wait for spring to appear? I have been so excited and eager while I waited for a glimpse of these beautiful images from one of our beautiful weddings from the past summer.

Katie, this gorgeous bride, is a new, up and coming, and seriously talented photographer from our home town and we were thrilled when she asked us to work for her wedding. We knew it would be sincere, stylish and beautiful. When I heard it would be working with mixed yellows, I was so excited. It was a beautiful change and suited them perfectly!

These two looked like they were fresh off the pages of a bridal magazine! So photogenic, and their joy and excitement for the day was so endearing.  Katie was just beaming!

We made the organic looking bouquets with a simple mix of massive dahlias, wax flower,  mums, millet, beautiful mixed grasses and greens and a few other cheery yellow touches. The grooms boutonniere was styled with locally grown wheat and was the perfect touch for the boys.

Katie and Josiah, congratulations on your wedding and all the best in the future. I was so happy to be able to help you style your flowers, and was great working with you.

Clara and Phillip

It's not everyday that we work with permanent flowers, but when Clara asked for a stylish bouquet she could keep, we hunted down the best of the best for her.

Succulents, dahlias, freesia, lilacs, some wooden roses and a few other great textures made up this pretty, colorful silk bouquet.

I just love this picture some Krysten Cathleen Photography. Clara's laugh, the beautiful location, the relaxed couple just enjoying their day. Clara is just beautiful, inside and out. Such a great memory.

Thank you for meeting with me for your wedding flowers Clara. I hope they will bring you memories of your beautiful day and your exciting new life as a married woman. It was so fun working with you.

Megan and Steve

I think I had audible response to the images from Meg and Steve's wedding from the talented Aly, of Victoria Anne Photography,. I was thrilled! It was one of our summer weddings from this past season and it was a highlight for me for many reasons. It was a super fun, ultra-creative bride, the venue (the Peasant Cookery) was fabulous, and it was a change of scenery for me, getting the chance to work in Winnipeg.

We scored a pair of HUGE 30"balloons for this couple, for some fun pictures downtown in the Exchange and as part of the backdrop while they said their "I do"s. They were the perfect touch for this charming wedding.

Megan was unlike most brides I get to work with, in the way she wanted to do so many amazing details on her own for a personal touch. She was so relaxed, and really seemed to be enjoying making this not just a wedding, but a great party and celebration for those closest to them. It was such a treat. Her handiwork was out of this world to top it off!  I was beyond impressed.

Her bouquet was mostly built with some bigger-than-imaginable peonies (flown in from Holland) and garden roses. It's simple design, perky colors and great texture were so fitting.
(I don't think she could have possibly been any prettier! So adorable.)

Thank you so, SO much for asking me to meet you and work along side you for your special day. It was a party for the record books and your love and personality showed through in every aspect. All the best to you and Steve in your new marriage.

Also, a big thank you to Victoria Anne Photography for the massive selection of amazing pictures of this day. I appreciate your work so much, Aly. Thanks again.

Jessica and Jordan

It was such a nice change to work with Jessica when she told me the colors she was looking for in her wedding bouquets. Rich fall colors, jewel tones and lots of great floral choices (dahlias, mums, callas, orchids, roses and more)

This was such a pretty color palatte and so nice to design with. It was a nice break from the soft colors that were so popular through 2013.

Thank you for trusting me with help with this part of your day Jessica. You made it easy for me to design a rich full bouquet for you. All the best to you and Jordan in your new married life.

Also, thank you to Holly Gilson Photography for these stunning images! Thank you for capturing these bouquets, and beautiful wedding so well. We appreciate your work so much.

Melissa and Dale

There is something about working with a pro in the wedding industry that makes me a little nervous. Missy is a seriously talented photographer (check out Happy Photo Co.) and sees beautiful weddings all the time. When she called me to ask me to help her with her big day, I'll admit, I was little nervous. It only took one meeting with Missy to see that this wedding was so well laid out and planned, that this was going to be a treat! She knew exactly what she wanted (and had seen a picture from my friend, and local floral designer, Miss Heather Page!) that she loved, so we took the bouquet idea and ran with it. I was so thrilled with how well it came together.

Roses, glittered succulents, beautiful grey brunia and ranunculas were some of the focal flowers in these beautiful bouquets.  The touch of glitter on the succulents and airbrushed golden greens were such a unique way to pull in the soft, feminine colors of the rest of the wedding and such a treat to design with.

Missy's experience in the wedding world lended perfectly to her guest blogger features with It's Love as she planned her wedding from start to finish. From deciding on the first glance to the details of the day, it was fun to read some of her posts as she made the decisions that led up to her beautiful day.

All the best in your new life as husband and wife Missy and Dale. Thank you for asking me to help design your dream bouquet, for stepping out of the box with your ideas and for being so easy to work with. It was wonderful!

These beautiful images of this couple come from another serious pro, my friend Lani of Lani Elias Fine Art Photography. She is truly one of the best!
