This wedding was a fun one from the past summer. Mike and Amy were a super cute and chilled out couple that came with some colors in mind and created a fantastic mix for their fun day. Some of these pictures aren't necessarily of the work that we did for them at Bloom, but they were too cute to not share!

If you pick the biggest weekend for your hometown's street festival, add in some balloons, friends (and a ferris wheel!) you are destined for great memories! LOVE these shots.

Amy's bouquet was made up of massive green orchids, spiders, peacock feathers, button daisies, and a few other colorful beauties.

The subtle accents of peacock feathers and colors tied everything together so nicely.

A huge congratulations both of you on a memorable, fun wedding. You were a blast to work with. All the best in the future!

Ranae & Elliot

I am not sure there has been a wedding or bouquet I have enjoyed working on quite as much as Ranae's. She had a clear idea of what she wanted, and yet was open to suggestions, wanted to work with organic elements all throughout her wedding, and was so trusting. It was a real treat.

Her fabulous bouquet was like non-other in my books. Succulents, succulents, succulents! Loved it. The texture, colors and movement of her bouquet was beautiful.

The reception venue also became the ceremony site in short order, when the weather wasn't co-operating, so we moved the decor around to create a cozy, intimate spot for the couple to share their vows. It was beautiful.

The centrepieces carried the organic, fresh feel through the reception, adding a little sparking with LED lit branches mixed in. It gave height and volume to the already stunning facility (Minnewasta Golf & Country Club).

Thank you Ranae (and crew!) for you time, trust, creative ideas, and wonderful personalities. I felt as though I was working with friends! What a treat. Congratulations on your beautiful, beautiful day. God bless you both!

Our blog has been a little neglected in the last few months. Between wedding season slowing down, and the craziness of Christmas sneaking up on us, we didn't have a chance to check in too much.

In all the action of the holidays, I found myself stepping back more and looking at the things that really mattered this year. I didn't have a Christmas list, all I needed was my family, all together, enjoying all we have been given already. That's it. Isn't that, after all, part of the real reason for the Season?

Whether it was fresh flowers, the perfect snowfall, a smile on your child's face Christmas morning or simply some "down time" with your family, we hope that you are able to take some time to appreciate the beauty all around us, especially in this Christmas/New Years Season.We are so blessed.

Thank you all for making 2011 a truly blessed year for our business, and also, our family. The friends and support we have gained through our connections at Bloom have really enriched our lives and humbled us. We wish you all the very best in 2012 and are proud to serve you for years to come.

Jenievah & Anthony

Beautiful. Yep, Jenievah and Anthony's wedding was just beautiful. The colors were fresh and feminine, the bride was stunning, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. It was a beautiful day.

Garden roses, Queen Anne's Lace, Hydrangeas, Callas, and other soft pretties made up her full bouquet, and it suited her day just perfectly. A hint of vintage, and a fresh garden feel tied everything together.

See that pretty little red rose peaking out of the bouquet? Jenievah had the touching idea to tuck it in as a remembrance of someone she had lost. So sweet.

Jenievah hired us to help decorate the venue with arrangements down the isle and entrance, setting the scene for the reception.

Jenievah and Anthony, I wish you both the best. It was great to work with you Jenievah (and Cindy!) Congratulations again!

If I were going to make a list of the things that described my favorite kind of bride, I'm sure Corinne would tick all the boxes. Organized, focused, open to suggestions, flexible, punctual, great style and sweet. When I met with Corinne, every time I felt like I was working with someone who I could clearly see their "Vision" for the day. It was fun designing the beautiful look she had in mind for their gorgeous day.

Corinne and her wedding party picked up buckets and bundles of great mixed flowers to keep the vintage, garden feel going on the tables. I can imagine the fun they had creating centrepieces for each table.

Everything about the day, the pictures and the flowers seemed to sum up that I saw in Corinne. A time-less beauty. Congratulations to both of you and blessing on your marriage. Thank you for choosing Bloom.

I wanted to keep this bouquet for myself. There. I said it. I just loved it. Julie (or as she is known in our household "Ms. Unrau, THE favorite teacher) gave me full creative control. Our guidelines were to do a fall bouquet, but not the typical sunflowers and daisies fall.

We used rich, spicey colors, lots of texture and some beautiful flowers. Julies dress was champagne and the colors seemed to work together so well. We heard the comment from several people "Well, those flowers just LOOK like Julie". Perfect!

Thank you for letting me help and letting me play with the ideas for your bouquet. It was a pleasure. Congrats to both of you! See you at the school-bell MRS. Unrau ;)

Giving Thanks

My Mom (Janet) and I weren't here this year for Thanksgiving so we the left the reigns to the shop in the hands of our new staff, Loressa and escaped for a little well-needed holiday together, along with my sisters. One of my sisters lives in Wyoming and the last time we saw her was for Bloom's Grand Opening almost a year ago. So needless to say, it was time. This is just a quick shot of how we spent our Thanksgiving.

Being away from the ones you love reminds you of all of the things you are thankful for though. My friend, business partner supportive husband, John. I don't know how to express how thankful I am for you.

My crazy children, the light of my life, Cohen and Andie. You are the best gift.

And Bloom. I am thankful for Bloom, our customers, my staff, and our supportive communities that have given us the chance to be the business we have become. I can't really say thank you enough. I

have been blessed, truly. Happy (belated) Thanksgiving everyone!

Amanda & Doug

Ok, ok, I'll admit it, when Doug and Amanda told me the colors that they wanted to use for their wedding, I was a little surprised. Not that I didn't think it would work out, but simply by the original colors that I haven't worked with much for bridal. BUT, after we sorted out the details and I saw the bouquets come together, I will now remember these two for just that, FANTASTIC colors!

Mini Callas, Roses, and Gerberas were what was used to pull these bouquets together. The depth of these colors is what made it so outstanding. From the dark, almost black mini callas, to the soft purple roses or the punch of orange in the boutonnieres, it was stunning.

These last few pictures are taken by the groom himself (Doug Friesen Media) at the end of the wedding day. I am always proud when I hear how well the bridal bouquets have held up, so I was thrilled to see these pictures from Doug. I think he knew these were some shots I would love to see too. Thanks again Doug.

Amanda and Doug, thanks again for the great planning and beautiful day. It was a pleasure to be part of it, and see how wonderfully your day came together. Congratulations to both of you and all the best!

Sometimes, it's just nice to keep it simple. Jaclyn wanted yellow, only yellow, and after seeing her great bridesmaid's dresses, I think it was a nice way to go. Sunny yellow Mini callas, and full yellow spider mums for the girls. Classic, bright and perfect. Great choice Jaclyn. It was a pleasure.

We have had more and more people asking about how to do a great winter bouquet. It always brings me back to one of my favorite bouquets of last winter. Add some permanent flowers to hold up to the freezing cold Manitoba winters, fresh great winter greens, some branches and accents for texture and you are almost guaranteed a success! I just love what we worked out for Christy's bouquet.

I know I often say that a bouquet is my favorite, so this time I will say that the whole idea of Ike and Kristen's whole wedding was my favorite! The style was unstructured, organic, soft and stunning! And it has to be said, aren't they a beautiful pair? Wow.

Kristen's bouquet was a collection of some of my favorite elements, orchids, Dusty Miller, Curly Willow, berries, feather, freesia, and more beauties tucked in. I love the imperfection of this style.

(Remember the bouquet we did for Des & Cole from Weddings In Winnipeg Magazine? That was another great bouquet in this style)

Ashley was one of the most glamourous brides I have worked with this season. Feathers, bling, glitter and dramatic touches were everywhere, including her bouquet. Classic white bouquets are always one of my favorites. Callas and lilies together with a few ostrich feathers were Ashley's picks for the big day. Beautiful!

Working with Ashley was so fun. She was so open to ideas, easy going and really seemed to be enjoying it all. That is the best for us and treat to see. She even spent her birthday, the day before the wedding, setting up, laughing and enjoying herself. That's my kind of bride!! Leighton is a lucky man.

We helped Ashley with a few decor elements for the big day too. We brought in tons of stunning white Ostrich feathers and glittery gems and got to work. Oversized feathered arrangements, floodlights, and touches of sparkle tied it all together so well.

Congratulations Ashley and Leighton. Your day was just stunning and it was pleasure to help you. All the best!

Well this wedding was worth the wait (and the drive!), that's for sure! Deanna and Joel were a couple I worked with for quite a while, helping them with their destination wedding in Gimli, MB. It was such a treat. I have known Deanna forever, and so it's always nice working with someone that you are so familiar with. She knew exactly what idea she would like, from the centrepieces, to the bouquets, so we took those ideas and ran with them. It was easy, berry pink and big flowers!

Isn't she adorable?! Just loved working with them!

Deanna hired me to be there for the day to work out some of the details, like centrepieces, decor, set-up, etc. So I loaded up the van and hit the road. What a blast! I was so fun seeing how excited they were for the day, and the location was just unreal. It was hard to believe we were in Manitoba!

For centrepieces, it was such a treat to do something new. We stacked up square glassware with color-matching flowers in each one. The linens and raspberry colored accents tied everything together so nicely.

Deanna and Joel, thank you for letting me help. I had such a great time! It was a beautiful day and you guys are such a fun couple. Congrats again.

Oh Dear, dear Amy. :) I think the picture above shows her personality off perfectly! What a treat. We laughed, we joked, we picked out a perfect bouquet to suit a great bride. Heather was a dream client to work with. We met early in their engagement and it was one wedding I was just waiting for! She was relaxed, sweet, organized and knew all kinds of flowers that she loved. What a treat! From the beginning, it was so fun to work with a bride that knew so many different types of flowers she loved, and was open to suggestions and different ideas. Her wedding showed that off, I think.

The wedding was decorated with tons of flowers in vintage glassware. The girls picked up buckets and buckets of mixed flowers to dress up the decor of their venue, and it gave the place an "undone" cozy feeling. How inviting for their guests!

Jenilee & Steve - Sweet Beginnings

Jenilee was an example of what every bride should be. Feminine, sweet, RELAXED, and enjoying the process. Often brides struggle with the stress of details, even the most minor, and end up missing some of the best parts of the planning. Jenilee (and her Mom!) was a delight to work with. And I think that same attitude show so well in these shots. What a beatiful bride!

Color, or no color? This was the question Jenilee. :)
Just days before the wedding, I was in picking out flowers for the cooler and saw these beautiful purple roses, and just couldn't resist. When Jenilee and her Mom saw them sitting among the flowers she had picked out, well, there was her answer. I think the hint of color is the best part!

Congratulations Jenilee and Steve. I wish everyone could experience an attitude and joy of life that I saw working with you. It really was a treat!

The Perfect Picnic - Richelle and Ryan

I don't even know where to start with this wedding. I feel like I became friends with the bride through all the details and planning, and I just ADORE her style. This post is a little long, but the fantastic pictures (courtesy of Josh Dookhie Photography) left it so hard to pick my favorites!!

Richelle brought in a great collection of vintage laces that we used to wrap the stems. Such a feminine, soft touch, and it showed up perfectly with her dress, I think!

It was the couple's idea to use these over-sized balloons, and how fun are they?! Awesome prop! We ordered them into the store and have a variety of colors available.

Isn't this a fun-looking bunch of ladies? GREAT dresses.

I know I have said it so many time, but I think this is my NEW favorite shot. I can't get over the mix we put together for this wedding. Richelle was so open to idea, so we used a mix of classic garden flowers, astilbe, tea roses, spider mums, freesia, peonies, and other beauties. A soft, colorful mix (that smelt awesome!)

The bride brought in an assortment of small containers for arrangements to be placed around the wedding site. Cute little touches were everywhere. (I know the next few pictures aren't necessarily of our work, but I just couldn't resist putting them in to show the DETAILS of this gorgeous wedding!)

The say that the love is in the details. Well, then this wedding is definitely love-filled! Congrats on a BEAUTIFUL wedding R & R. Be blessed in your marriage.

The Lady and The Gentleman - Ali & Kyle

STUNNING colors! That's what I thought of Allison's great bouquet. Her whole wedding party had such a nice warm palette of colors, smokey grey dresses, berry red shoes, a handsome groom in uniform and a stunning bride in white. So classy. So beautiful.

Allison showed up in the store with a picture she had found of a bouquet she liked. With a little tweeking, we came up with these bouquets. It was nice to have a bride that had such a clear idea of what she was looking for. We used Hydrangea, Spider Mums, Button Daisies, Statice, Berries, and other lovelies to make up her bouquets.

Aren't they a stunning couple?! I just LOVE the dress, and what can you say about a Groom in uniform. So classic. Love it.

Summer Lovin' - Erin & Kendall

Sometimes, I find it silly just how excited I get for some of the weddings I work with. I have a great batch of girls from Altona this year and they have proven to be some of my favorites, for sure! Erin was one of them. I just LOVED her yellow and green and white combos.

Each Bridesmaid carried a different flower, all of them in white, and then, we used each of those types of flowers to make up Erin's bouquet. Isn't that GENIUS?! Such a cute idea.

I always appreciate brides who trust me with their weddings. Erin and Kendall, it was truly a pleasure to work with you and from the video that I have seen, your wedding was ROCKIN'! Congrats on your gorgeous day and all the best!

One of my stylish sweet brides gave me a heads-up on a fantastic blog she came across a couple weeks ago. We were so busy at the shop with Mother's day and hiring staff that I didn't get a chance to check out the site right away, so in the quite moments of my morning today, I checked it out. OH. MY. What have I gotten myself into?! I am now hooked.

The website is Green Wedding Shoes and it nothing short of FABULOUS! Every wedding is better than the next. I could spend hours looking at every style, from Modern, to Rustic, to my growing new favorite, Vintage. SO beautiful.

So, I had to share a few of my favorites, and new inspirations. I have a few of my brides in mind that would as excited as I am with these beauties!

April: A Season to Give

The blessings my family, my staff and I have received through opening Bloom has been laying on my heart recently and I have been looking for a reason to give back and bless someone else, who needs it. When talking to a dear friend of mine recently, she was filling me in with the work of Gentle Hands in Manilla, Philippines and my questions of where to give were answered. This was the beginning of our plans for Bloom in April.

So, I'm happy to announce our first ever Bloom Charity Clothing Drive. We will be taking the whole month of April to collect clothes, baby needs and donations to send to the Staff, Volunteers and Children of Gentle Hands. (information about this organization is below)

At our home, I know with Spring cleaning brings bags of the kids clothes out to hand off to someone else, why not take some of those clothes and bring them to Bloom? We'll send them off at the end of the month for you, half way across the world! With every donation, we'll give our a 15% off coupon and an entry into our Grand Prize Giveaway at the end of April. We are also looking for business to help with donations to help cover the cost of larger items and the cost of shipping.

About Gentle Hands: Gentle Hands is a child and youth welfare agency meant to be on the front lines of rescue and rehabilitation of the medical, social and educational needs of at-risk children and youth, working towards improving human community life through the love of Jesus and family centered care.

Over the last 15 years Gentle Hands has been a ministry dedicated to helping the urban people of the Philippines. Over 5,000 babies have been born at Gentle Hands since it began. Gentle Hands is licensed and registered under the Department of Social Welfare and Development and are able to process adoptions both locally and internationally.

It is Wedding Season at Bloom and things are in full swing (actually, almost done "swinging", we're so booked!) There have been a steady stream of bride's coming to meet us to talk ideas, plans, and book for their special day. And it seems that every bride, no matter how organized and well planned, has the same questions, so I thought I would put the answer (or at least my answer!) out there to help.

What does a wedding bouquet cost? If I had a dollar for every time I've heard this... :)
Here's a quick answer (taken from our FAQ's). If you go to the grocery store, you can't ask "how much are groceries?" It doesn't make any sense, it depends on what you buy! Prices changed dramatically by the number of things you need, the brands you want and when you need them. This the exact same for flowers. This is the reason I always encourage bride's to call ahead and make an appointment with me so we can sit down and talk about what you are looking for and how we can help. This way, I CAN give you a price that makes sense, and is relative to what you are looking for. This is really the only way I can answer that. I do not give prices over the phone because often, if you are comparing to anything else, it's hard to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. I want to be fair on my quote so you know exactly what I am quoting you for.

How far in advance should I book? This year, the wedding season is booking up fast and is almost at what we can handle, so my answer is "as soon as you can"! :) Now, after saying that, it's best to have a few things in place before you look to book a florist. Please, have the date picked! It is hard to help without that primary detail (and yep, it happens that brides come to book our services without that info. A little tricky, I'd say!) When you have that set up, we can talk about some of the details of your day (colors, theme/feel of the wedding, location, flower favorites) Ideally, we would like 3 months notice to help. After saying that, of course we can help with shorter notice, but we want to make sure we have all the time you need, and advanced notice helps with that.

Do I need a deposit to book? Yes, but only after we have met and decided how we can help. When we know what you are looking for, and you are ready to book the day, we ask for an approx. 50% deposit. This is to assure you that we are here for your service that day, and to confirm the brides that we have booked. We are flexible in the exact amount, or if you prefer payments, but a deposit is necessary to confirm the day.

Do you deliver the day of the wedding? Yes. We will deliver to the location you prefer. The day of the wedding is crazy enough for those involved, so we like to save you the trouble and bring them to you. We offer free local delivery (Winkler and Morden area) and will deliver outside of that area (as far as Winnipeg) for a small delivery fee.

I always encourage brides to get ideas together, pictures that you love (or really hate!), shapes of bouquets, pictures/swatches of the dresses, a general idea of the wedding so we know some idea of what you are looking for. I love it when bride's send emails of things they have found so I have an idea of what they would like to see for their wedding.

I hope some of these suggestions and ideas help. It's an exciting and busy time to plan a wedding, so we are happy to help. It is a joy for us to help your flowers be a direct reflection of your day and yourself. We'd love to be your Florist!

Kari was kind enough to come in to the shop this week for Mom and I so we could sneak away for a little family time State-side. Being the creative gal that she is, she hauled (and I mean HAULED!) her camera along and went to town with pictures of some of the new lovelies that have entered the store. I have posted some basic pictures here and there of the new stuff, but somehow Kari's eye just sees through a camera a little better! She got some great shots! Thanks KT, you know I love ya'!Enjoy!

The Madness - Before and After!

Ah, Valentine's Day. It's the same thing every year, a great day to express our love, appreciation or just friendship for the people in our lives. I have always loved this holiday, simply for that reason, a great chance to appreciate things in our lives, and most importantly, love each other.

As this is our first Valentine's Day with Bloom, I was nervous and had no clue what to expect. We had a whole weekend of Valentine's really, so it was a matter of "have I ordered enough?", "did I order way too much?", "what will people be looking for?" All of these thoughts kept running through my brain. So when Valentine's came, it all came down to trust in my (and Mom's!) planning, our trust in knowing what our customers are looking for when they come to us, a little bit of advice from our supplies and friends in the industry and a some serious prayer!!

And after all of that, our cooler looked like this...

FULL! This is a quick phone picture of the cooler, and this is before we got more stock on the weekend that we couldn't fit inside!! And before we started doing arrangements and bouquets. It was packed and gorgeous, I have to say! The colors, and more importantly, the SMELL was fabulous! I could get used to having a cooler full like that everyday!

We had more than 1200+ roses in the cooler. Orange, pink, red (of course!), white, yellow, and then some. Hydrangeas, orchids, tulips, lilies, I felt like "you name it, we've got it!" that day! It was wonderful.

Well, that didn't last for long. We made it until 10 minutes before close, then we were pretty much sold out. When the dust settled, our beautiful cooler looked like this...(and this is of course after mom has swept up, she just couldn't leave it! :)

I think we had the odd stem of filler, baby's breath and some greens left! Not a rose, not a bloom to be found. At one point, Mom and I looked at the line up, looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh. All of the worries and planning really paid off. We were so blessed with our first Valentine's day.

I won't lie, my feet couldn't take that action everyday, but it was fun. Really, really fun. Thank you for all of the support, patience (for those of you who were held up in our line!) and encouragement to me and my staff this weekend and through our first big V-day. We really felt it and truly appreciated it. Can't wait for next years!

Last night was our first ever Ladies Night Out with Bloom and what a huge success! We had over 100 women through our doors to spend the evening with us (and wow, it was chatty in here!) It was great to see so many women out to see what's new in the store and check out the newest jewels from our friends with Stella & Dot. Thanks again Anita and Holly! So fun!

Thursday (January 27th) is our first Ladies Night Out wit Bloom and Stella & Dot. I thought this would be a suiting post for this great pairing. Bouquets and Jewelry! OR, bouquets MADE with jewelry! I think these bouquets are just the cutest thing ever, a great way to include some heirloom pieces or great vintage pieces into your bouquet. A grandmothers broach, a mothers ring, an antique favorite. Very cool. Tuck them into a bed of petally flowers like a hydrangea (1st pic) and you have a totally unique bouquet no one will ever forget.

While I've been day dreaming away the ideas I have for our upcoming Bridal Showcase in February (24th), I've been having a hard time narrowing down the colors, styles, flowers I want to show that night. There are just so many that I love, and think (and HOPE!) local brides would love to see. Here's just a few...

I have a bride booked for later in the summer who's discussed doing a bouquet almost exactly like this one (above) I love the vintage garden look of it with the Queen Anne's lace, lysiathus, roses, etc. Love it!

Oh the tulips! Obviously I have spring on the mind because I have serious tulip-fever! I love this bouquet. The texture is so feminine and I LOVE the handtie.

Dramatic. Great lines.

I love, love, love the colors of this one. So daring and bold. Orchids, callas, pin-cushions, so many great flowers in statement colors. Love it!

Another vintage-feel stunner. Gorgeous!

I can't even describe how cool I think this bouquet is. Love it. So unexpected! The more I look at all the great flowers in it, the more I want to make one like this!

I love the pearl detailing in this one. Something about the classic addition of them to a perfect flower like an orchid, classic bouquet! Fabulous!

This pretty in pink bouquet caught my eye for it's softness. I love the trailing greens, and pop of pink.

I can't decide. I can't seem to narrow down any favorites. But one thing I noticed that always catches my eye in all my favorites is the texture. Great complimentary textures and just a little unexpected. I'm loving the "un-typical" trend for flowers that is so big right now. Full of great colors and shapes. What are your favorites? What would you love to see come together for our showcase?

This post may be coming a little late, but as I look out my office window at the -42 outside, it's nice to look at some pictures from a gorgeous summer day.

If I was going to describe Rachel as a bride, I'd use one word, Grace. She was calm, beautiful, and handling the day with ease. She was a lovely person to get to know. She was so excited about her whole day, and being a bride, it was exciting to meet with her. Her bouquet was full of lilies, ivory roses, berries, mini callas, beautiful curly willow and lush greens. I feel like I should re-introduce myself on the blog. Not only have we turned Full Circle Flowers into something new with the opening of Bloom, but I have been absent from the blogging world. Thank you to those of you who have been checking in with us faithfully, at the store and online. Your support is what makes what we've been doing so far a great success! Christmas was hopping at the shop. We had a lot of customer fill out gift registries, and were THRILLED with how many had all check marks beside their little "wish lists".

With such great support over Christmas, it left us feeling a little bare and in the mood for new stock! ?With those new things coming in almost everyday after the holidays, it's been exciting ordering, unpacking, and arranging the store.

There are some exciting things in the works for Bloom in the next few months. Check back with us soon to see the plan for anyone thinking wedding. There's a GREAT evening event coming up in February for you, to show you all the great possibilities for flowers, decor, photographers and gift registries. Meeting with Christina and Jordan, I knew this wedding would be a sweet one. Jordan came along and I could tell they had decided together what they'd like for flowers. Looking at their unreal pictures, you can see how cute they are. Jordan is one lucky guy, Christina was goregous. Her bouquet was a mix of white hydrangeas, white mini carnations and a handful of white orchids. In her hair, she tucked a few white orchids in for a finishing detail. I just loved this wedding, it was so my style. From the uber cute paper cake topper to the vintage feel, not even the rain could stop your smiles. I met Lisa and her sisters before the wedding and they we such a great time. My kinda girls :) Lisa didn't seemed stressed about any part of her day, so picking the flowers was fun, as it should be. Her feminine bouquet was roses, lilies, mums and freesia. The unstructed shape matched up with her STUNNING dress perfectly, I thought. For the wedding party, we used dark isises, gerbera daisies, asters, mums and alstromeria. I just adored the colors. It was definetly one of my favorites. Another delayed post. But a great one, to make up for the delay. I have known Ainsley since she was a tiny little girl. She is such a sweet person. So when I was asked to help out her family with her wedding day, I was THRILLED! She has picked some great colors and was having a stylish wedding on their family's magazine worthy yard. Each bridesmaid wore a different color, and carried one type of flower, all in white. And instead of corsages, the Mother's of the bride and groom, and grandmothers all carried mixed bouquets to match the bridesmaids! What a cool idea!

The bride then picked up the colors of each bridesmaid in her bouquet and I hit the jackpot on perfect matches. 4 tones of roses, freesia, mini callas made up her goregous bouquet. The groom and groomsmen wore sleek mini callas to balance out the girls. It was a fabulous day and I was so happy to be a part of it. Thank you Schroeders and Kroekers. What a great wedding!

Felicia looked like such a feminine, beautiful bride. I loved the purple flowers. We used all kinds of lines in her bouquet, fresh (and FABULOUS SMELLING!) lilacs, stocks, roses, lilies and hydrangeas. It was a bouquet full of texture, a nice change with a great collection of beautiful seasonal flowers. When this bouquet was all put together,it just seemed to match the idea of this bride to me, dainty, girly and classic. Congrats Felicia and Adam. What a goregous day!

Oh-so-beautiful-Chelsea. Isn't she pretty?

Paul and Chelsea were are great (and fun) couple to work with. Chelsea had a pretty good idea of what she wanted and Paul came along to give us his opinions too. It was a nice change to have the groom there too.

The flowers were a bright mix of purples, yellow (for Paul's sunflower fix) and orange. For greens, we added a few sleek lines against the gerbera daisies with some grass banding, and wrapped it up in a grey grey layered hand-tie. This was a new combo of colors for me and I thought the were stunning. P & C happened to get the nicest day of all the fall, let alone winter, in November, so Marcy (http://www.marcypenner.com/) got some great shots. Thanks for sharing with me Marcy and a big congrats Chelsea and Paul. It was a pleasure.

This wedding was one for the books. I wish everyone could have seen the hall and decorations set up for this wedding. The atmosphere was perfect. Kaeleigh was such a beautiful bride (and equally beautiful woman!). It was truely a pleasure to work with her. Carolyn & Jason - Part II

Part of the fun of Carolyn and Jason's wedding was setting up the most perfect little catholic church (after quite the commute, I might add!). The front alter was a statement of the space, as Carolyn wanted to "surrounded by flowers". We used glass and white glowing candles across the front and down the isle. A mixture of lilies, stocks, snapdragons, hydrangea, roses, and other white beauties gave exture and great lines to the display.

These shots were taken by the talented designing mind behind Dovetree, Kari Wiebe (www.dovetree.etsy.com). The partnership between the two of us was perfect and provided breathtaking results. Thanks again, K. You're the best!

Unforgettable. That's how I would describe Carolyn & Jason's wedding. Every aspect was unforgettable. I met with this couple months before the wedding and had the priveledge of working with them on a lot of the details of the wedding. Following the lead of one of my best friends, the creative mind behind Dovetree (http://www.dovetree.etsy.com/) we were the hands and feet behind the decorating and details for the couple. From the crisp black chandelliers hanging over each table, dressed with custom linens, to the sheer curtains that transformed this stark shed into a hot night club, nothing was overlooked. Classy and so, so stylish, it was one of the best events I've seen, and I'm sure each guest would agree.

Peacock feathers dressed the tables and also the bouquets, adding HUGE impact and style. Carolyn's vision of her bouquet added even more with the addition of an overstated black osterich feather, very cool. I loved, LOVED this wedding and felt proud to be part of the day. Thanks so much C. & J. (and Diesel!) It was a BLAST!Congrats again.

I LOVE THIS BOUQUET!

I have never done a bouquet quite like the one I did for Des. I was a little nervous, I'll admit it, but I was THRILLED with the results and it past this stylish bride's inspection, so that's all that mattered. Des caught on to some of the hottest trends in bouquets right now, and I loved working with some non-floral materials in the bouquet. From 22" feasant feathers, willow accents, berries and orchids, the texture of this bouquet would be hard to beat.

Des knew exactly what she wanted, brought me a picture and left the rest up to me. The organic bouquet worked so great with the details of their wedding. It definetly made it one of my favorites.

Beautiful Gwendolyn! I just love this girl. She was one of the most stunning bride's I've ever seen. She told me she'd like something classic and elegant, so we went with ivory roses, and huge ivory hydrangeas.

Gwendolyn and Jordan hired me to help with the decorating and details of the day and it was beautiful. We scaled new heights (one of the bridesmaids and I were over 30 feet up hanging lanterns!!) and the results were one goregous wedding. And this sweet couple sure deserved it. Well, I was likely just in the midst of telling someone I was craving a little color, and along came Holly! :) I loved the purple, and that's where we started. Between Holly and Ross, they were pretty clear what they had in mind, and agreed that they wanted more color (and that Ross get his "trumpet flower"!)

I used mixed Circus and red roses, yellow mini callas (for Ross) and Hypericum berries. All together, the mix was so rich and beautiful! For the cake and centrepieces, we decided to work in some more purple, and used purple dendrobium orchids. I think that they were my favorite centrepieces to date.

I loved this bouquet! LOVED it! I told Amanda I wanted to keep it at my house for just a little while longer! :) The colors alone were breath-taking. This bouquet was a mix of huge pink peonies, pink, fushia and orange roses.

You gotta' love those Greniers! Mike and Melissa were so much fun to work with. Mike's been a friend for a long time, since before my own wedding, and Melissa was one happy, well planned bride! Her bouquet was a nice change from some of my past white bouquets, with white mini gerberas, spider mums and hydrangea. The combination shaped so nicely and worked great with her detailed dress.

Congrats you two! Not only was it fun working with your flowers, but your wedding was a blast! All the best.

Color! Finally some more great color! I love the mix that Kaylee and Bobby picked together. Reds, yellow and orange are always a favorite combo. of mine. Circus roses, always a hit, with the varigated yellow and orange petals, mixed with some red roses, yellow lilies, lime green button daisies, and some gold mini callas for the bride, it was a great palatte of color!

Kaylee and Bobby were a great couple, and I was so happy to have a groom come along and have an opinion. And they worked together great. Congrats you guys, and all the best!

Colleen was one of my favorite brides. She had a great vision of what she wanted her bouquet to look like and picked certain flowers for specific reasons. I LOVED that. She was open to gardeny, non-typical flowers and timed things just right. Everything around town was in full bloom. Peonies, Hydrangea, Lilacs, Daisies, and Lily of the Valley were all used in her bouquet. I loved the drapey lilacs, but my favorite part was the prefectly ruffled white peony! Wow. And not only did it look good, the smell was just awesome! Definetly one of my favorite bouquets to date. We used a part of the material from the bridesmaids dresses, and I sewed a sleeve for the handtie. The wrap of material around the sems looked so finished and was a great way to add just a splash of color. Loved it! Thanks so much C & C for letting me be a part of this GREAT day! All the best!!

These were the pew markers we did at the front of the aisle outside. I had these great tall glass vases that were waiting for someone to use them, so the submerged freesia was a great way to break them in, and a totally unexpected addition to the isle.

The bridesmaids carried Freedom red roses, dark red alstromeria and red freesia. They were a perfect match to the cool bridesmaids dresses and had lots of unique textures.

Colleen had set up a candy bar at the reception and had a great idea to do a vase arrangement using Sweethearts. With a little imagination, we had things set up to show them off and tie in perfectly with the rest of the candy. So cute!!

Trista was such a great flexible bride, it was so fun putting some ideas for her bouquet.

What a goregous bride! The brides's bouquet made a bit of an trip to get to her beautiful location, but was so suiting for her elegant style. Ruffled tulips, roses and stephanotis made up the bouquet for both the bride and bridesmaids. Thanks for letting me be a small part of your day, Brittani. The results were beautiful!

When Chels asked me to help out on her big day, I knew the look would be stylish and fabulous! She didn't let me down when she told me she wanted dark purples. I was so happy to work with some color. The mix of purple tulips and dark mini callas were crisp and sleek and let the color do the rest. I added a little grass banding instead of the usual greens and I was so happy with the final results. Congrats Chels and James, what a perfect pair!

OHHHHH, you just gotta love the purple! :)

It was so nice to keep the ball rolling this month with another wedding so soon, and with the beautiful weather, Alyssa and Corey got super lucky (or should I say blessed?). It was sunny and goregous. What a great way to start off any marriage! Mixed whites have been such a popular bouquet for most of my brides, but each one turns out differently, whether in size, shape or texture. This one had beautiful Atiko roses, freesia, waxflower and a few other goodies and smelt SO good. I have to say that freesia seems to be slowly becoming one of my new favorites. So feminine and pretty, I love it. It was a pleasure working with this bride because she was trusting and focused and I think the results were beautiful.

After taking some time off and enjoying the holidays with my family and friends, I was excited to get back to doing flowers and working with some of my great brides. Last weekend, I worked with a wonderful bride who wanted to replicate the features of her bouquet to her mother's bouquet, with red roses and drapey cedar branches. It was nice to see a bride with something specific (and sentimental) in mind. I don't have many pictures of this wedding yet, but the ones I was given by Holly Neufeld (http://www.hollyneufeldphotography.blogspot.com/) are beautiful. Dan & Melissa - Part II

Do you notice the little "golden" guests in these pics? Each vase held some fun little guests. The bride wanted something classy (like orchids and clean lines) and the groom wanted something fun (like goldfish in the vase water) What a great mix of the two, I'd say!

This shot is one of my favorites of Melissa's bouquet. I loved this one. So timeless and classic. And to top it off, it smelt fantastic!!

And nothing as classic and simple as a tight red rose bouquet for the bridesmaids. What a great hit of color.

Dan and Melissa hired me to help them do some of the details throughout the day so there are some great pictures of some of the fun things we set up. The cake was amazing, the dance was rockin', and the place looked beautiful.

Fresh Start

After an encouraging amount of support for my small business and a surprisingly busy fall, I thought there was a place for me now to show some pictures of my latest work. I have a lot of bookings coming up and hope to be adding more pictures continually. The variety of weddings I have been working with has surprised me and makes my job exciting! From a beautiful, formal wedding full of ivory and classic elements to a warm and colorful fall wedding, I've loved every minute of designing the perfect flowers for each day. It's been exciting getting bookings from all over with new people and I am still thrilled when someone has called to book after hearing positive things about my work. What better advertising is there?! How great to meet people at such an exciting time in their planning and to be able to join in the fun! I'll be doing some work in Morden, Winkler and Winnipeg in the next couple of months and hope to have great shots of the exciting things to come! Thank you all for the support. It's because of great supporters like you that I have been blessed with this opportunity to use my love of flowers and design to help others. I couldn't ask for more.

Some "Pretty in pink" bridesmaids flowers for a summer wedding. Nice and fresh and ready to go out.

These two pictures were for a Fall wedding where the goal was to keep things wild and colorful. I don't usually do much with bows, but it was added in the brides style and color and was used in some of her decorations for tables and the reception.

While cleaning up some of my old pictures, I came across some of the shots of my work from when I had just started. There are some styles that I can't say are my favorite, but variety keeps things fresh, that's for sure. Also, I find it interesting too seeing how the styles change and how different the requests of each bride can be.
